Pakistan Muslim League (N) Overseas central secretary General Sheikh Kaiser Mehmood has said that with the hike in prices of petrol and diesel the national economy and industry would further meltdown. He said the people should not be compelled to come on roads for protest against the price hike. He said that if the common man's tolerance ends it would create great trouble for the government. He said the increase in petroleum prices should be withdrawn; otherwise the prices of other necessities of life would also rise. He said that if the rulers can't control over dearness, they should resign. In a statement issued here on Friday, he further said that the PML-N would not remain silent over the situation. He said the local industrialists and traders were already worried due to power crisis and the government further created troubles for them by increasing the prices of petroleum products, which would badly hamper the trade activities and national economy.
Kaiser Mehmood said that if the rulers can't give relief they should not subject lashes of price hike to masses. He said this is time to save nation and country and not power, adding that the rulers should break begging bowl and come out of clutches of the IMF. He said that if the economic policies of Pakistan continued to make on the dictation of the IMF, it would not be helpful in changing the destiny of the people, nor the loans could be paid. He said the government in order to stabilize the economic system should withdraw increase on the prices of petroleum
